Creep Feed Grinding is a relatively new grinding process. Since the mid 1950s, it has been gaining popularity because of its high material removal rates, accuracy with formed surfaces and the reduced part temperatures of the work surface. Creep feed is also known in some parts of the world as deep grinding. In creep feed the material is held in place as the grinding wheel roves across the work surface usually making deep cuts at a low feed rate. Applications such as grinding slots and profiles can be performed using creep feed.
