Thermoforming is a process where a flat sheet of plastic is heated and formed. Parts like bath tubs and the inside of refrigerator doors are made with thermoforming techniques because of their contour shapes. This process is used to make a lot of the larger plastic items. Thermoforming is a secondary shaping process and only thermoplastics can be thermoformed.
