http://www.mfgx.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/1003/waterjet.jpg Waterjet Cutting uses a fine, high pressure, high velocity stream of water that is directed at a part, cutting a narrow slit in its material. It is effective in cutting flat stocks of composites, textiles, tiles, plastics and some metals, and can be easily set up for 3D cutting. There is no pollution, minimal material loss and ease in automating the process with of numerical controls. However, because of the tendency of brittle materials to crack this process is not recommended for use on materials like glass.
