Our client is changing the way the world sources its energy — away from diminishing fossil fuels in hostile locations toward a far more abundant source, our sun. Their mission is to provide solar energy generation at a cost equal to or better than traditional electric generation from natural gas, oil, and even coal. To achieve this goal, they have developed technology that eliminates the cost barriers to solar energy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, validation, testing and manufacturing of electrical and mechanical components and systems with a focus on highly automated production.

• Site-specific project work, especially in early stages with field testing requirements.

• Site work will include modifications of existing designs through to new mechanical and civil work.

Qualifications and Experience

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• 5+ years experience taking products from concept to volume manufacturing.

• Experience in manufacturing process development and integration with high levels of automation including forming, joining, and assembly.

• Direct experience with CAD and FEA, particularly SolidWorks and COSMOSWorks.

• Ability to work effectively in and lead cross-functional teams.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to provide creative and practical solutions.

• Practical understanding of tolerances, margins and error budgets.

• Ability to work directly with vendors.

• Ability to plan, manage and report status of projects.

• An understanding of solar energy is a significant plus.
